Are third-party batteries safe for the Canon Rebel T7?

Im honestly so frustrated with Canon right now because charging like 50 or 60 dollars for a tiny piece of plastic is actually insane. My logic was just to grab a couple of those cheap Wasabi packs off Amazon since I have this family trip to the Grand Canyon coming up in two weeks and my current battery barely lasts an hour anymore.

But then I started reading some horror stories and now Im super anxious about the camera overheating or the battery swelling inside the slot and getting stuck forever. I really cant afford a new body if this thing bricks. Are third-party ones actually safe or am I just asking for trouble trying to save a few bucks?

I've found third-party batteries are perfectly safe if you stick to reputable brands. I've used them for years and I'm very satisfied with the results. Here's what I've found:

> I really cant afford a new body if this thing bricks. Totally get the anxiety. I used Kastar LP-E10 Replacement Battery 1200mAh for a month and it was solid. I also picked up the Powerextra LP-E10 Battery 2-Pack with USB Charger for travel. No complaints at all. The Kastar feels light but works well tho, while the Powerextra charger is the real winner for road trips. Im very happy with the savings.

Unfortunately, third-party capacity is usually a lie. I had issues with BM Premium LP-E10 Battery 1200mAh dying way too fast. Try Neewer LP-E10 Li-ion Battery 1020mAh but dont charge them unattended.
