Just picked up an R6 Mark II and I need a decent bag for it. Im taking a trip to the Scottish Highlands next month and need something weather resistant that fits the body with a 24-105mm attached plus maybe one extra prime. My budget is around 200 bucks. Ive looked at the Peak Design Everyday Zip and the Lowepro Flipside, but Im honestly stuck. Some reviews say the Peak Design is too tight for the R6 body shape and others think the Lowepro is overkill for a light setup. Does anyone here use a specific bag that isnt super bulky but still keeps everything safe from the rain? Kinda nervous about the weather out there...

Been shooting in Scotland for years and honestly, you need better weather sealing. Forget the others, look at these instead:

  • Shimoda Action X25 V2 is built for hiking. It is super modular and the build quality is insane for the price.
  • Think Tank Urban Access 10 is easier to access on the go and fits that kit perfectly. Both handle the rain way better than anything else I have tried.

Honestly, if you are heading to the Highlands, dont mess around with gear that isnt built for absolute chaos. I have been using the MindShift Gear BackLight 18L for years and it is honestly a total tank. It keeps my R6 totally dry when the Scottish weather turns sour, which happens every ten minutes!

  • It has a rear-loading design so your back stays clean when you set it down in the mud
  • The integrated rain cover is actually reliable unlike some other brands
  • It fits that 24-105mm combo perfectly with room for a prime It feels way more secure than the trendy stuff. You can find them around 180 bucks if you look for sales. Seriously, dont skimp on the protection or your gear is gonna have a bad time!

Honestly, skip the Peak Design Everyday Zip 15L because it was tight for my R6. Try the Lowepro Flipside 300 AW III instead; it handles Scottish rain much better.
