Ive been shooting for like five years now mostly doing portraits and some event stuff so I thought I knew what I was doing but I just ran into the most annoying issue with a Rebel T7 I bought as a backup. My main body is currently getting serviced and I have a small indoor event this Friday in the suburbs so I need a working setup fast. I tried hooking up my old manual triggers and they just wont fire at all.

I did some digging and realized Canon actually removed the center sync pin on this model? I dont even understand why they would do that to a DSLR but here we are. I really need a reliable wireless trigger that can actually talk to this specific hotshoe because my current gear is basically useless paperweights right now. My budget is around 120 bucks and I really need to get this sorted by Thursday so I can test it before the gig.

Which wireless flash triggers are actually compatible with the T7 and wont give me a headache with the missing pin? I heard some Godox stuff might work but I'm getting conflicting info online...

Man, tell me about it. I ran into this same mess last year when I tried to use a T100 for a quick booth setup and felt like an idiot when my triggers wouldnt fire. Canon really did us dirty with that missing pin. Honestly, the experience was pretty frustrating because I had to spend forever messing with firmware just to get a basic signal. If youre looking at Godox, here is how they stack up for that T7:

Building on the earlier suggestion, I have been very satisfied with the Godox X2T-C TTL Wireless Flash Trigger for Canon. Since the thread already covered the firmware fixes and general frustration with the pinless shoe, I can confirm this trigger works well. It communicates via the TTL pins to bypass that missing contact. Quick tip: check the box for a T7 compatible sticker so you dont accidentally get old warehouse stock.

You gotta be cautious with that specific hotshoe. Imo just get any newer Godox transmitter since they updated their firmware to emulate the signal for those pinless Canon bodies.
