Ive been trying to hunt down the Rivendell set for my birthday next month but everything is just so expensive and I keep missing the actual discounts. It is so frustrating honestly. I set up those price trackers on Honey and even tried some of the alerts on Brickset because people said they were the gold standard for this kind of stuff but honestly theyve been useless for me lately. By the time I get the notification in my email or the little pop up on my phone the deal is already gone or the stock is wiped out entirely. I checked a couple of Discord servers too but there is just way too much noise and people talking about minifigs I dont care about. I am trying to stick to a strict $400 budget because the wife will kill me if I spend more and living here in Oregon at least I dont have to worry about sales tax but the shipping costs on some of these random sites are insane. I just need something that actually pings me the second Amazon or Target drops a price and not ten minutes later when the scalpers have already cleared the shelves. Does anyone know which websites actually provide the most reliable alerts for Lego sales that arent just laggy bots?
i totally get the frustration with those laggy alerts. it took me months to snag the big titanic set because i kept hitting a brick wall with those massive sites like honey... they were always five minutes behind. after a few missed deals, it was time to switch things up. i started using a more niche community tracker that focuses solely on brick-related drops and honestly, it works well. i have been so happy with how it turned out. finally managed to get my big white whale set at a decent price because the pings were nearly instant. no complaints at all with the results lately. here is what i learned from my experience:
To add to the point above: honestly, I disagree about those big apps. In my experience, just use a dedicated LEGO price tracker.
