My old T7 finally bit the dust so Im hunting for a mirrorless upgrade this Prime Day. Stuck between the R10 and R7 for birding. Got a $1200 budget so the R7 is a huge stretch unless it gets a massive discount... do you think the R10 is good enough for fast movement?

Honestly, making the jump from a DSLR to mirrorless is gonna be a total game changer for your birding! I have been shooting for a long time and the transition to this new tech was the best move I ever made for reliability. To answer your question, yes, their mirrorless systems are absolutely good enough for fast movement! You really want a system that is safe and consistent when you are tracking birds. Basically, if you stay within the Canon mirrorless ecosystem, you are going to be so happy! Their tracking tech is just fantastic and super reliable. I would honestly just suggest getting any mirrorless body from their current lineup that fits your budget during the sale. You really cant go wrong with their mirrorless tech right now! The way the focus stays locked on is pure magic... it makes the whole experience so much more fun and less stressful. I love how these cameras handle! They are built so well and the performance is just top-tier across the board. Just go with a mirrorless Canon and you will be set for a long time. It is a very safe investment for your photography journey and you are gonna love the results! Its such a relief knowing your gear wont fail you when that perfect shot appears.
