so Prime Day is coming up like next week and Im honestly getting so stressed about which headphones to actually track. i was looking at those Sony WH-CH520s cause they're cheap but then I read they dont even have active noise canceling which is basically a dealbreaker for my loud bus commute here in Seattle.

then my logic was maybe the Soundcore Life Q30s since everyone raves about them but arent those like super old now?? i dont want to waste my $60 on something thats gonna break in a month or has a battery that dies. do you guys think any newer 2026 models are actually gonna hit that $50-60 range or should i just stick to the older stuff everyone suggests...

Look, Ive gone through like a dozen pairs over the years, and honestly, dont sweat the age of the Q30s too much. Theyre classics for a reason, but since its 2026, you can definitely aim a little higher during the Prime Day madness.

  • Soundcore Space One Active Noise Cancelling Headphones LDAC - these are my top pick for you. Ive tried many budget pairs and the ANC here actually handles bus engine hum way better than the older stuff.
  • Sony WH-CH720N Noise Canceling Wireless Over-Ear Headphones - wait for these to hit $70 or less. In my experience, the comfort is way better for long commutes than those cheap 520s. Most 2026 ultra-budget releases are kinda flimsy plastic tbh. Tracking a mid-range model from last year thats on clearance is the pro move... trust me on that one. The battery life on the newer Sonys is legit too.

Regarding what #1 said about "Look, Ive gone through like a dozen pairs...", unfortunately most budget sets lately feel like cheap plastic. I tried the Sony WH-CH720N Noise Canceling Wireless Headphones but they felt like theyd snap if I looked at them wrong.
