I've heard rumors about its features and specifications, but I'm eager to know when it will be available for purchase. Any updates or confirmations would be appreciated!
According to CR, EOS R6 Mark III will not be announced at CP+ Show, so most likely to be announced in March or April 2025.
Re: Why waiting for R6 Mark III? The R6 Mark II is already a good camera.
Just saw this and wanted to chime in from a technical hardware standpoint. While dates are fun to guess, the real question is how it fits into your existing kit. If the Canon EOS R6 Mark III follows the trend set by the R5II, we’re looking at some serious power draw requirements. You'll basically need the Canon LP-E6P Battery Pack to get the best frame rates and high-end video features. I’m also betting the older Canon BG-R10 Battery Grip wont be compatible if they redesign the chassis for better heat dissipation - which is a huge deal for us long-form shooters. Honestly, their probably going to tweak the mount communication too for faster data throughput. If you’re planning on an upgrade, definitely start looking at the Canon EOS R5 Mark II accessory compatibility as a blueprint for what to expect. Its not just about when it drops, but what else you'll have to buy to make it actually work (at least thats what happened with the last few launches). tbh I'd be ready for a late Q1 or early Q2 announcement based on the production cycles.
Yep been there done that. Can confirm everything said above is spot on.
April 2025, most likely.

Maybe in April 2025.
Soon. Just waiting.

Rumors suggest a possible Canon EOS R6 Mark III release around Summer 2025.
