Trying to grab this TV for my kids dorm before move-in next week but the walmart prices keep jumping $50 every day and its driving me nuts. I saw Keepa but thats just for Amazon and Honey doesnt show history charts for what I need. Is there a legit extension that actually monitors walmart prices specifically...

I went through this mess with a mixer last year. Walmart is tough with those price swings. I found Capital One Shopping to be a decent option because it felt safer than other tools.

  • shows actual price history charts on the page
  • sends email alerts for drops It worked for me, though it depends on how often they update their crawler. It didnt have any weird glitches.

Like someone mentioned, Walmart's pricing engine is just a mess. Honestly, I've had some pretty bad luck trying to find a tracker that actually works consistently without being a total privacy nightmare. Last year I tried to grab a cheap laptop for my nephew and used a few of the lesser-known extensions, but they were super disappointing. Half the time the alerts were late or the price they showed was for some weird third-party seller instead of Walmart itself. Ngl, it's exhausting checking every morning. If you're being cautious about what you install, here is the reality of what I found:

  • PriceBlink is okay for a quick check, but the history data feels incomplete. It totally failed me on a microwave deal because it didn't refresh the cache fast enough... I missed the sale by like an hour.
  • Slickdeals is probably the safest bet for a conservative user. It's not a pure tracker like Keepa, but if you set a deal alert for that specific TV model, the community usually catches the drop way faster than an automated bot.
  • Visualping is what I used when I got desperate. It's more of a technical workaround where you tell it to monitor the specific pixel area where the price is. It's honestly frustrating that we don't have a Keepa for Walmart that actually works. Most of these tools just can't keep up with Walmart's anti-scraping tech, which is why the data always looks so spotty. Good luck with the move-in, hopefully you catch a break before next week.

> Regarding what #2 said about "Like someone mentioned, Walmart's pricing engine is just..." It really is a dumpster fire behind the scenes, but honestly I've been super satisfied with my current setup lately. It works well and I have no complaints as long as you're careful. Before I give you the full breakdown, which specific TV model are you tracking? Some SKUs behave differently because of how Walmart handles their inventory data, so that really matters for the tracker accuracy. One big warning tho: be extremely careful with extensions that demand permissions to read and change all your site data. A lot of them are basically spyware disguised as price trackers. Also, check if the TV is actually sold by Walmart or a third-party seller. Those third-party prices fluctuate way more and standard alerts might miss them. Tracking their backend is a bit of a chore but its totally doable if you're smart about it.
