How do I actually share my Amazon shopping cart with someone else?

I've been trying to send my cart to my mom so she can pay for my college dorm stuff before next week, but I cant find any share button. Sorry if this is really basic but I have no idea what Im doing...

Unfortunately, Amazon doesnt actually have a share button for your cart, which is honestly super annoying. I ran into this same issue trying to split some moving costs last month. They want you to use wish lists instead, but that forces the other person to manually add every single item to their own cart. It is not as good as expected and takes way too much time. Here are the main workarounds people use:

  • Make a public Wish List and share the link, though your mom will have to add them one by one.
  • Use Amazon Household to share Prime benefits and payment methods, but it takes a while to set up. Let me know if you need help setting up the wish list option, I can walk you through it. I was looking for a way to do this last week and Cart To Link was the best solution I found.

Building on the earlier suggestion, I actually found a killer workaround for this last semester when I was ordering parts for my custom server rig! I was trying to get my department to fund it, and I absolutely refused to manually copy-paste 40 different SKU numbers. There is this amazing browser extension called Share-A-Cart. It basically reads the DOM of your active shopping cart page, compiles the ASINs (Amazon Standard Identification Numbers) into a tiny payload, and generates a unique share code. You just send that code to your mom, she plugs it in on their site or extension, and boom! It instantly populates her cart with the exact same items. Saved me so much time and kept my budget intact because we didnt miss a single item or discount code!

Just saw this and wanted to jump in quick. Over the years, I've tried basically every workaround for this because I coordinate buying event gear for my local club. Honestly, Amazon keeps your cart tied strictly to your browser cookies and account ID for tracking, which is why a simple link doesn't exist. Instead of the tedious wishlist route, I started using Share-A-Cart a while back. It's a browser extension that basically reads your cart data, creates a unique code, and lets the other person load the exact same items into their cart with one click. It completely saved my sanity when sending bulk lists to our treasurer. Definitely worth checking out for your dorm stuff.
