How do I set up a price drop alert on Jomashop so I get notified when a specific watch goes on sale?
Sorry if this is a really basic question but I have honestly never used this site before and I am completely lost. My younger brother is graduating from college next month and I want to get him a nice entry-level automatic watch, probably a Hamilton Khaki Field or maybe a Seiko Prospex. My budget is pretty tight, around $500 max, and I noticed Jomashop has some really good discounts but the prices seem to change all the time. I was reading some Reddit threads where people mentioned they wait for price drops on there but I cant find an actual button or link on the product page to track the price.
Is there an official feature on their site where I can put in my email and they ping me when the price goes down? I made an account and looked all over the dashboard but I dont see anything obvious. I saw a button that says "Add to Wishlist" but I dont know if that actually sends email alerts when the price changes or if it just sits there. I really want to get this ordered in the next couple of weeks so it arrives in time for the graduation ceremony here in Chicago, but I also dont want to buy it today and then see it go down by fifty bucks tomorrow.
Or do people use some kind of third-party extension or browser tracker for this? I really have no idea how people monitor these things. If anyone could walk me through how to actually set this up step-by-step I would be super grateful because I am just clicking around in circles right now...
In my experience buying watches over the years, Jomashops built-in wishlist system is pretty useless for actual price alerts. It mostly just sends generic marketing spam rather than pinging you the second a watch drops. Honestly, they don't have a dedicated, reliable price drop button on the site. I've tried many ways to track their stuff because their pricing fluctuates daily. Your best bet is to check the site manually every few days, especially around weekends when they run flash sales. Also, always look for active coupon codes, they almost always have a code for twenty or fifty bucks off sitting around. I'd suggest checking out PriceDropCatch if you want to see if that sale price is actually a good deal or just marketing.
^ This. Also, having bought dozens of watches over the years, I can confirm Jomashops internal system is a dead end. Everyone here is spot on about the wishlist being a waste of time. A while back, I was trying to snag a specific tool watch for my collection. The price fluctuated by almost a hundred bucks week to week, and I almost bought it too early out of frustration. Manually checking was just draining. I eventually stopped relying on their site and started using third-party trackers. Now I just let PriceDropCatch monitor the page and ping me when the price hits my target. It saved me about seventy bucks on the one I got. Since you have a hard deadline, my advice is to set your alert slightly above rock-bottom so you actually get the ping in time to ship it.
Just saw this thread and wanted to chime in because I went through this exact same headache last year when I was hunting for a Seiko Sumo on a tight budget. I tried waiting for Jomashop to alert me, but like the first reply said, their system is basically useless. So I had to get a bit creative to save those extra bucks. Here is how I ended up doing it:
