My family reunion is this Saturday and I'm supposed to take all the group photos but I realized I dont have a way to trigger the shutter from a distance. I'm looking at the Canon RS-60E3 which is super cheap but its wired so I'd have to hide the cord and stay close. Then there's the Pixel TW-283 wireless one on Amazon that says it works with the T7 but I've read mixed things about compatibility since this camera is picky. I tried the phone app but it keeps disconnecting and I'm about to lose it. I need to order something by tonight to get it here in time. Which one is actually gonna work without failing on me?
To add to the point above: are you actually gonna be in the big group photo or just standing off to the side? I absolutely love saving money where I can and the Canon RS-60E3 Remote Switch is a total steal if you can make the wire work! It never fails!! If you definitely need wireless tho, whats the furthest distance you think youll be standing from the tripod?
Just saw this! Look, the T7 is notorious for being a pain with third-party accessories. You gotta be super careful because half the wireless remotes on the market claim they work but they actually struggle with the T7s specific jack sensitivity! Honestly, forget the app, its absolute garbage and will fail you when the whole family is staring at you. Ive been through three different setups before I finally got it right... Heres what you need to watch out for:
