So I finally decided to bite the bullet and get on the waitlist for the upcoming R6 V once it drops, I am upgrading from my crusty old 90D so the jump to full frame is gonna be insane. I am planning this huge landscape trip to Iceland in November and I really need to get my gear list sorted before then.

I have been digging through some leaks and some people are saying the old LP-E6NH batteries will work fine but then I read a thread where some guy claimed the new processor is gonna drain them in like 20 minutes and we will need a specific PD power bank for the high speed modes. Also super confused about the cards... will my current UHS-II V60s be enough for the new sensor or do I actually need to sell a kidney for CFexpress? I have got like $600 left in the budget for extras so what are the absolute essentials I should grab first?

Dude, upgrading from a 90D to an R6 V is gonna blow your mind! Upgrading to full frame is a total trip and the low light performance literally made me emotional lol. Iceland is a different beast tho, especially in November. Memories of being out at Diamond Beach with my old gear dying in the freezing wind still haunt me. Honestly, dont stress the battery rumors too much but definitely grab a high-quality PD bank. The Anker 737 Power Bank PowerCore 24K is my go-to because it puts out enough wattage to power the camera while you are shooting long exposures. It turns your gear into a tank for those long nights waiting for the aurora. For cards, unless you are shooting crazy high-res video, your V60s will be totally fine for landscapes. Just grab a ProGrade Digital SDXC UHS-II V60 256GB Gold Card as a backup and save the rest for a nice dinner in Reykjavik!
