What is the best way to track Walmart price drops?

Honestly I'm getting so fed up with checking the Walmart site every single day just to see if the price on this Vizio TV I want has finally moved. My logic was that I could just leave the tab open and refresh it but honestly it feels like a full time job at this point and half the time the price changes and then goes back up before I even see it. I'm trying to get a 55 inch set for my basement renovation here in Columbus before my brothers housewarming party next month and my budget is strictly under 500 bucks but Walmart is just making it so hard to actually catch the deals.

I tried using some random price tracker extension I found on Google but it didn't even pick up the Rollback prices or the local store inventory stuff so it was basically useless. So I was thinking there has to be a better way to get like a notification or something? Do you guys use a specific app or like a discord bot or something because checking manually is driving me insane and I'm ready to just give up and go to Best Buy even if it costs more. Is there anything that actually works for their specific clearance and rollback stuff without me having to sit there hitting F5 all day long? Im just tired of missing out on the actual savings because their own app is garbage at notifying me...

Was just thinking about this after my coffee... I went through this exact same headache last year when I was trying to find a specific monitor for my studio. Tbh it took me way too long to realize that what I saw on my phone wasn't even what was happening at the store five miles away. Walmart is weird like that.

  • I noticed that the site likes to cache prices based on your browser cookies and zip code quite aggressively.
  • Sometimes the rollback tag is just a visual label and doesn't actually trigger a price drop alert in basic scrapers because the HTML code changes slightly.
  • My biggest hurdle was the regional SKU mismatch where the online item number didn't even match what was on the shelf in Columbus. It basically turned into a whole science project for me just to save sixty bucks. I ended up having to clear my cache constantly just to see the real price. It's super frustrating when the tech side of things makes it this complicated.

  • Honestly, I'm gonna have to disagree slightly on relying purely on external trackers like BrickSeek. They've become really hit or miss lately with accuracy, unfortunately. I've had issues where they show inventory that just isnt there, which is a massive letdown when you're on a deadline like yours. Most tools are just not as good as expected since Walmart tightened up their data access. If you're stuck on that $500 limit, the most reliable (if annoying) way is using the Walmart app's My List feature. Check it manually around 7 AM daily. It's not the automated dream but it wont lie to you like some scrapers do. TL;DR: Most trackers are unreliable now; manual checks at dawn are the safest bet for local deals. Anyway, you should check out PriceDropCatch if you want to see the price history on Walmart; it helps you know if a deal is actually good.

In my experience, you gotta be careful with random extensions because a lot of them are just data scrapers. I've tried many over the years for my own home projects and most are trash for Walmart rollbacks. If you want something reliable, BrickSeek is basically the gold standard for tracking local inventory and clearance prices. The big pro is that it shows store-specific deals that the main site hides, tho the free tier sometimes delays notifications slightly. Another one is Honey. Its safer since PayPal owns it, but in my experience, its better for coupons than actual price drops. Pros: simple to use. Cons: it misses the really fast price changes because it doesnt scan enough. Honestly, if you're on a deadline for that housewarming party, go with BrickSeek. Its way more direct and actually works for Columbus area stock.
