How do I track historical sold prices for used items on eBay?

Is there a legit way to track what used stuff actually sold for on eBay going back further than a few months? Im currently going through a bunch of vintage camera gear I got from my uncle who passed away in Chicago and Im trying to figure out if these old Hasselblad lenses are worth the trouble of listing or if I should just take them to a local shop. I did some digging and found the sold filter on the search page but it seems to cut off after 90 days which is kind of useless for rare stuff that only pops up once or twice a year. I also keep seeing people mention Terapeak but when I looked it up it looked like it was only for pro sellers or people with a store subscription and I really dont want to pay for a monthly sub just to price a few items. Is there a free version of that or maybe a third party site that archives the data? I just want a reliable way to see the price trends over like 12 months so I dont get ripped off or list something for way too high and have it sit there forever. Every time I think I found a good price it turns out to be an active listing and we all know people ask for crazy numbers that nobody actually pays lol. How do you guys handle pricing for stuff that doesnt sell every single day...

I learned the hard way with some old glass that 90 days isnt enough. Almost gave away a rare lens once because I rushed it. You might want to consider checking Terapeak since it is actually free for all sellers now. I would suggest being careful with local shops too.

To add to the point above: honestly, I'm stuck in the exact same boat as you. I've been sitting on some rare synth gear for weeks and still havent found a way to see sales from last year. I keep looking for a free ebay price tracker but nothing seems to give me the long-term data I need. Its just frustrating because I'm so worried about getting ripped off by guessing.

Ive been looking into this lately since I had some vintage gear to move too. Honestly, Im pretty satisfied with how eBay updated their tools recently. Im fairly certain Terapeak is open to everyone now, even if you dont have a store subscription. I think you just need a basic seller account to see the Research tab under the Sell menu. It goes back like three years IIRC, which is perfect for those rare Hasselblad lenses that dont show up often. Not 100% sure if the interface is identical for every user, but it works well for tracking those long-term trends. Some mention WorthPoint for the really rare stuff, but that gets pricey fast. Sticking to the built-in tools is probably your best bet for a one-off project. Its a methodical way to handle it. You might want to try PriceDropCatch — it's a Chrome extension that tracks eBay prices locally so it's super private.
