so im trying to build a little home studio setup here in portland and i found this specific roland keyboard i really want but it is way over my budget right now. i have about 300 dollars saved up but the seller has it listed for 450. i put it on my watchlist because i thought that would send me a text or something if they decided to lower the price but i havent gotten anything even though i saw a different item price change yesterday and i didnt get a ping for that either. im really new to ebay and honestly the whole site is kind of confusing with all the different buttons and menus and stuff so sorry if this is a dumb question but i just dont have time to sit there refreshing the page every ten minutes while im at work. is there like an actual setting i need to turn on to get an email or a notification on my phone when the price drops? or maybe a different app people use for this? i just really dont want to miss out if the seller gets desperate and drops the price to something i can actually afford...
Regarding what #2 said about "Building on the earlier suggestion, the native eBay..."

> the native eBay system is notorious for missing pings. Building on the earlier suggestion, the stock app is definitely hit or miss. It is super frustrating when you are hunting for a specific Roland and the tech fails you. While trackers like the ones mentioned are okay for some, I would actually argue that waiting for a price drop notification is a less reliable route than just using the Make Offer button if it is available. In my experience, most music gear sellers list their items a bit higher than they expect to get because they anticipate a haggle. You are way more likely to snag that keyboard for your $300 budget by just sending a respectful offer rather than waiting for a notification that might not even trigger if they only drop it by five bucks. Most sellers would rather have the cash now than wait for a tracker to ping someone. Definitely worth a shot, ngl.
In my experience, eBay pings are unreliable. Over the years I've learned to:
