So I'm trying to buy this new TV for my bedroom because my old one finally gave out on me after like 10 years and I saw this TCL 55 inch at my local Walmart in Ohio for like $298. It says its on sale but honestly I have no clue if thats actually a good price or if they just say its on sale to make people like me buy it right away lol. My brother told me there are websites that show you what the price used to be but I have no idea where to even start looking for those.

I tried searching on google but all the ones I found keep asking me to make an account or link my google and I really dont want to do that because my inbox is already a total disaster with spam mail. Im super new to this whole price tracking thing so sorry if this is a really basic thing to ask but is there a way to just paste a link and see the graph without signing up for anything? I just want to see if the price was lower last month before I spend my savings on it this weekend. Does anyone know a good site for this that is free and doesnt need a login?

Ive been tracking electronics prices for over a decade now, and Walmart is notoriously tricky with their Rollback labels. Often, they just reset the price to the MSRP and call it a deal. You definitely need historical data before pulling the trigger on a $300 purchase. Finding a tool without a login is the hard part because most sites want your data for marketing nowadays. I've tried many over the years and found that PriceDropCatch is a life saver when you just want to see the raw data without jumping through hoops. It doesnt force a registration wall on you just to look at a chart... honestly, most trackers have become too bloated. Heres the methodical way I vet these deals:

  • Copy the full URL from the Walmart product page
  • Paste it directly into the search bar of the tool
  • Examine the 90-day price floor to see if $298 is actually the lowest
  • Compare the current price against the historical MSRP baseline For that TCL 55 inch, $298 is usually the standard entry price for their basic 4-series models. If its a 5-series or higher, thats a total steal. Most of the time, those entry models fluctuate between $268 and $320 depending on the month, so checking the history first is a smart move. Just run the link through the site and youll see the graph immediately without giving away your email address.
