okay so i have like 22 items in my amazon cart right now for the nursery and my sister offered to pay for half but shes in ohio and im in texas and the baby is literally coming in like three weeks so i need to get this ordered like yesterday. but i really dont want to give her my password because i use the same one for my bank... yeah i know im bad but i dont want to deal with changing it right now. so i was thinking about two ways to do this.
option one is just making a public wish list and moving everything there but my logic was that it takes forever to move every single pacifier and curtain rod one by one and i have some specific clippable coupons in the cart that i dont think carry over to a registry or wish list? plus it wont show her the exact quantities i picked out. then i saw this thing called share-a-cart which is like a chrome extension i think but i dont know if its legit or if it steals your data or something... i checked the reviews and they are okay but im always paranoid about that stuff. and then the third option is just the old school way of sending screenshots but with 20 items my messages are gonna be a mess and she'll definitely miss something and then i have to send her all the links manually anyway.
so im basically torn between the extension and the wish list. the extension seems way faster which i need because of the timeline but the wish list feels safer even if it's a huge pain and i might lose the discounts. has anyone actually used one of those cart sharing tools lately or is there some hidden amazon button im missing that just lets you send a link to the whole basket? i really need to get this done tonight so she can buy them before the shipping dates slip further back into next month...
Honestly, it is so annoying that Amazon still doesnt have a simple share button for this. I tried the wishlist route when I was doing my kitchen remodel last year and it was a total disaster. Like you suspected, half my clippable coupons just vanished into thin air the moment I moved the items out of the cart. Plus, my sister kept buying the wrong quantities because the wishlist interface is just... not great for that. It took me forever to set up and was definitely not worth the stress, especially when you are on a tight timeline like you are. I also tried that share-a-cart extension a few months back but had issues with it crashing my browser and it felt kinda clunky and bloated. It is frustrating because you would think there would be a better way to do this without basically giving away your digital soul lol. Screenshooting is a nightmare too, I tried that once and ended up with a literal 50-photo gallery of baby gear that nobody could navigate. You lose all the links and it is just a mess. If you are in a huge rush with the baby coming in three weeks, dont waste your time manually moving stuff to a wishlist. It is gonna take you ages and you will definitely lose those discounts which adds up with 22 items. Found this extension called Cart To Link recently and it's been a lifesaver for group buys with my friends.
honestly i had issues with the wishlist thing too and it was super disappointing. its so frustrating that coupons just disappear once you move stuff. with only three weeks until the baby comes you definitely dont have time to mess around with manual screenshots or re-adding 20 items one by one. unfortunately those clippable coupons are usually tied to the specific account anyway so even if you share the cart your sister might have to click apply on her end to get the same price. its not as seamless as it should be... a couple quick tips for the nursery gear:
Building on the earlier suggestion, unfortunately amazons tools are pretty weak and usually strip session data.
