Ugh so im trying to get everything ready for my sisters housewarming in Seattle this weekend and I have like 20 items in my amazon cart right now. I really need her to look at it before I drop $150 but there is no share button??

I searched online and saw people mentioning Amazon Household but that looks like a huge headache to set up just for one order and I dont want to share my bank info honestly. I also saw that share-a-cart extension but im on my phone right now and idk if that even works. why isnt there just a link i can text her? how can i do this fast without making her a whole family member?

Hello, you can try the Cart to link extension, works well for me. They will also show price drops:

> why isnt there just a link i can text her? how can i do this fast without making her a whole family member? Honestly, I get the hesitation with Amazon Household. Sharing payment methods is a major security risk imo and I wouldnt do it either. If you are trying to stay under that $150 budget and need a quick fix on mobile, the easiest safe way is moving items to a public Idea List. You can just hit the share icon on the list and text her the link. It keeps your cart private but lets her see the items and prices. I saw your post earlier and wanted to mention that if you are worried about costs, definitely double check for those clip coupon boxes on the housewarming items while youre at it. Those small discounts add up fast when you have 20 items. For more info on the tech side of things, I usually refer people to this cart sharing guide since it covers the safest browser extensions and mobile workarounds that dont involve sharing passwords. Just make sure you dont accidentally add everything twice if you move them from the cart to a list... I have done that before and it was a mess at checkout. Good luck with the housewarming party tho! Seattle is beautiful this time of year even if it is kinda pricey.

To add to the point above: those lists are actually a lifesaver. I had a similar situation last month when I was trying to coordinate a big order for a backyard party and I was so happy with how it worked out. Technically, the lists are way more stable than the cart because they sync directly to your account database instead of just sitting in your temporary browser cookies. It makes the transition from mobile to desktop totally seamless which is what you need. A few reasons I was so satisfied:

  • the link doesnt expire like a cart session might
  • she can see the live prices without being logged into your account
  • it keeps your payment info totally separate and safe Honestly, just go with Amazon for the whole thing and dont worry about extra apps. Just use any basic list and itll work fine. No complaints from my side, it makes the whole process way less stressful when you're on a budget.

Ive been through this so many times over the years, especially when trying to stay under a strict budget for big family events like yours. In my experience, relying on the actual cart is just asking for a headache because prices change so fast and things go out of stock while you're waiting for a reply. Here is what has worked best for me:

  • Move everything to a new list and hit the invite button. This lets her actually add or remove things directly.
  • Since you're trying to stay under 150, keep an eye on those price fluctuations. Use this walmart price tracker Chrome extension when cross-shopping to see if you can get the same stuff cheaper elsewhere.
  • Screenshot the final total before you checkout just so you have a record of the original prices. It took me a few messy tries to figure this out but collaboration lists are definitely the safest way to go without giving up your bank info. Its way less stress, trust me.

In my experience, like someone mentioned, its a huge oversight. Sharing logins is risky, so I use these:

  • Share-A-Cart for links
  • Mobile screenshots Both are reliable.

Omg I totally feel your pain with the Seattle housewarming thing! I went through this exact same nightmare last year when my bestie was moving and I wanted to buy her a whole set of kitchen gadgets but was terrified of her accidentally seeing my credit card info... safety is literally everything to me! The Lists feature is actually amazing for reliability!! I just moved everything to a fresh list and invited her to collaborate. The pro is that it stays synced forever and is super secure, tho the con is you have to click move to list for every single item which is a bit of a slog. I also tried just doing rapid-fire screenshots once which is the ultimate safe move, but with 20 items my thumb literally started cramping lol! If you can hop on a laptop for five minutes, those cart extensions are a total lifesaver and way easier than texting individual links. I love the lists method the most tho because I dont have to worry about some random app having access to my data or her seeing my bank details!

  • honestly been struggling with this exact same headache for months and still havent found a safe solution that actually works - it is so disappointing that Amazon is so far behind other brands who make sharing a breeze while they just ignore the feature - i really dont want to compromise my bank info or account safety with sketchy workarounds or sharing my whole household access, even with something like Share Product's registry, i just want a simple button
