Does anyone know how to get instant notifications for Walmart rollback price changes because I am seriously losing my mind here. I am trying to get a specific Graco car seat combo for my sisters baby shower in Columbus next week and my budget is strictly under 200 dollars. Right now it is listed at 279.99 and I know it goes on rollback often but every time I check it is either full price or sold out. I actually missed it by like two hours the other day because I didnt get a notification until it was too late and I am so frustrated.
I have spent the last three days googling everything and I am just more confused now. I tried using the Honey extension but it seems like it only checks every few hours or something? It definitely isnt real-time. Then I saw people talking about BrickSeek but when I went to sign up I saw a bunch of comments saying the free version is basically useless for hot items because the data is delayed and by the time it pings you the item is gone anyway. I dont have the money to pay for their premium Extreme membership or whatever they call it just for one single purchase.
Is there an app or maybe a specific way to set up Google Alerts that actually works for this? Or like a Discord server that monitors Walmart inventory specifically? I need something that will literally buzz my phone the second that price drops so I can buy it before the scalpers or whoever else gets to it. I tried the Walmart app notifications too but they mostly just send me ads for stuff I dont want instead of actual price drops on my saved items list. If anyone has a trick or a specific site that actually updates fast please let me know because I am running out of time before the shower and I really dont want to show up empty handed...
Try this chrome extension, it can track walmart product price:
I love the technical side of inventory scraping... those refresh rates are incredible! Quick question tho: are you tracking the Sawmill Road location or a different store? Local stock data pulls from specific nodes.
Ive been messing with retail trackers for years and honestly the delay on those big sites is just how they push people into paid subs. Its all about the crawl rate. If you really need that car seat by next week, dont rely on a 3rd party server to tell you its on sale... those guys are always behind the curve. Use VisualPing to set up a direct page monitor instead. Basically, you want to track the specific HTML price element. In my experience, Walmart rolls back prices in waves, usually around 2 or 3 AM EST. If you set a local monitor to refresh every few minutes on your own machine, youre gonna see it way before the mass alerts go out. Most of those free trackers only check every hour or so, which is basically useless for high-demand Graco gear when scalpers are active. Its a bit of a technical workaround but totally worth it to save that 80 bucks. Just keep your laptop awake and the volume up so you hear the ping when the price changes.
Any updates on this?
Helpful thread 👍
Ive been tracking retail pricing for ages and in my experience, relying on a scraper when you have a deadline next week is just gonna lead to more frustration. Most of those instant alerts are still too slow for hot items. Car seats are long-term gear you'll have for years, so the stress of trying to time a one-week window is tough. I need to know two things first tho:
Re: "I love the technical side of inventory scraping......" - honestly I am not tech-savvy at all but I have been exactly where you are. When I was shopping for my first car seat, I was so worried about safety and my budget. I really wanted a Graco because they are so reliable, but the prices kept jumping. I eventually found something that worked for me without having to learn how to code or anything. I used a simple setup that just texted my phone. It was great because I knew I was getting a genuine product directly from the store, not some random reseller.
Man I wish I found this thread sooner. Would have saved me so much hassle.
