Can two people add items to one Amazon Fresh order?

So we have this massive family dinner thing happening on Saturday and I am currently freaking out because the delivery windows here in Chicago are filling up like crazy. I have been using Amazon Fresh for years literally since it launched in my area so I know my way around the app and the whole add to order feature after you checkout but I have never actually tried to have two people shop at the same time on one account. My husband is at his office trying to add the drinks and the heavy stuff like the cases of seltzer and the 20lb bag of charcoal while I am at home trying to coordinate the actual ingredients for the brisket and sides.

I am worried we are gonna mess up the cart or like double order everything if we both hit checkout or if it even syncs in real time? I keep refreshing my cart and I see the soda he added but then when I add the potato salad it seems to lag or sometimes his items just disappear for a second. Its so stressful because our budget is tight like $350 max and I dont want to accidentally buy two of everything or lose our 8am-10am slot while we are fumbling around. Is there a specific way to do this? Like a shared cart mode or something or do we have to just have one person do it all?

I really need him to be able to put his stuff in because he knows exactly what brand of beer and snacks his brothers want and I dont want to keep texting him every five seconds to ask. We are running out of time before the cutoff for tomorrow and I really dont want to have to drive to the store in this rain. Can we both be logged into the same prime account on different phones and just add stuff simultaneously or is that gonna break the whole order... or worse just lose our spot in the queue?

Late to the party but @Reply #2 - good point! In my experience, that lag is a total nightmare when you are trying to stay under a budget. Honestly, just get any snacks or sides from the 365 brand, you cant go wrong. It really helps when you are stressing over that $350 cap. Just a heads up, Share-A-Cart is really helpful if you're trying to coordinate a big supply haul with a team.

Yes, it works well. My wife and I are happy with how my current setup syncs.

  • use one login
  • refresh the cart Zero complaints when we did this last Thanksgiving.

Unfortunately, the sync is super laggy. I once had a whole brisket disappear while my husband added soda. It's not as reliable as expected. Share-A-Cart is helpful for coordinating hauls.
