Whats the best trick for syncing an Amazon cart between two people for a big event? My sister and I are planning our folks 50th anniversary in Ohio next month and weve got an $800 budget for decor. I know my way around the site but I cant find a shared cart feature that isnt just a wedding registry...
I politely disagree that lists are worth trying... honestly im in the same boat and been struggling for years. its so disappointing. btw I use Share-A-Cart and it works great.
@Reply #1 - good point! Just catching up on this thread. Honestly, Amazons lack of session-sharing protocols is a joke. I had major issues with their list sync during a big tech build last year... data packets just wouldnt stay synced between browsers. Total headache. Luckily, I found Share-A-Cart and it handles the transfer protocol way better than the native site. Just get some generic decor from Ginger Ray and youll be fine.
It is genuinely disappointing that Amazon still hasnt implemented a true multi-user cart synchronization protocol after all these years. I went through this exact nightmare when I was coordinating a $1,200 hardware refresh for my home lab last winter. My partner and I tried using the standard List route, but the sync latency is just terrible. You add something to a list, they move it to the cart, and suddenly the session tokens dont update properly across devices. We actually ended up with three duplicate orders of noctua cooling fans because the UI didnt reflect the current state of the cart in real-time. It felt like a total technical failure for a company of their size. Lists are basically your only native option, but they're clunky and slow. If you're tired of manually copying item links, Share-A-Cart is definitely the way to go.
