i really need to find a price tracker for walmart before i buy this vizio tv for my dorm room move-in next thursday. my budget is $400 max and i cant tell if the current sale is real. i was looking at capital one shopping vs honey but im kinda stuck. my logic was that honey is easy but then i heard capital one has better history data specifically for walmart.com stuff. keepa only does amazon so thats out. which one actually works better for tracking walmart price drops? i dont want to get ripped off right before school starts...

Honestly, Walmart is a whole different animal compared to Amazon. Most people assume Honey is the king because it's everywhere, but it really struggles with Walmarts backend updates. I've been tracking tech deals for years and usually, Capital One Shopping has the edge for the history graphs because it pulls from a wider pool of user-shared data. If you're looking for that Vizio, you need to be careful with those rollback labels because they're often just the MSRP that hasn't changed in months. A few things to keep in mind while you're hunting:

  • Look at the seller info. If it's not Sold and shipped by Walmart, the price history is gonna be all over the place and probably not worth the risk for a dorm TV.
  • Install PriceDropCatch extension if you want something that actually alerts you the second the price hits your target range. It's a lifesaver when you're busy packing and can't check the tab every hour.
  • Clear your cookies or use an incognito window. Sometimes the dynamic pricing gets weird when the site knows you're eyeing a specific high-ticket item. Tbh, $400 is plenty for a solid Vizio if you catch it on a real dip. Just dont get sucked into the limited time offer banners without checking the actual history. Walmart loves to use those to create fake urgency right before school starts. Good luck with the dorm setup, hope the move goes smooth.
