Ive been shooting stills for years but I just landed a wedding gig next Saturday and my old rig is totally failing with the weight of my 6D Mark II and 24-70mm glass.

Motors keep vibrating and I am panicking. Need something reliable under $450 that can actually handle this heavy setup. Suggestions?

man that 6dii with the 24-70 is a total beast to balance... i went through a few setups before finding one that didnt vibrate like crazy under that specific glass. you gotta be careful with the smaller gimbals because even if the payload says it fits, the physical clearance for that long lens often hits the back motor when you try to tilt. i would suggest looking into the DJI RSC 2 3-Axis Gimbal Stabilizer 3kg Payload. it might be an older model but the folding design handles front-heavy setups much better than the newer compact ones. you should be careful to balance it at the middle of your zoom range, maybe around 50mm. if you balance at 24 and then zoom out to 70, the shift in center of gravity will likely stress the motors and cause that jittering you are panicking about. another solid choice is the Zhiyun Weebill 3S Handheld Gimbal Stabilizer 6.5kg Payload which is usually under your budget. it has a lot of torque and that built-in wrist rest really helps with the dslr weight during long wedding days. honestly just make sure to do a full autotune in the app after you think its balanced. dont skip that step or the motors wont know how to handle the glass. weddings are high pressure so you really need that reliability... make sure to run some tests before saturday tho.
