I'm new to videography and recently purchased a Canon EOS R50. I'm looking for recommendations on the best gimbal to pair with it for smooth video shooting. I want something that is easy to use, offers good stabilization, and can handle the weight of the camera and lens setup. Any suggestions on specific models or features I should look for?
Hello, you can take a look at this article:
DJI RS 3 Mini is the best choice.
@pinklaga RS 4 Mini is better: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/search?Ntt=dp&BI=8941&KBID=10361&SID=12345&DFF=d50

Like someone mentioned, keeping the setup light is huge for the R50. Ngl I've tried many gimbals over the years and I've seen too many people waste money on heavy gear they dont need. If you want something reliable that wont break the bank, honestly look at the Feiyu SCORP-Mini 2. It is a solid little piece of tech and usually much cheaper than the main brands. In my experience, the motor strength on the SCORP is more than enough for the R50 and a kit lens. Plus it has that underslung handle which is a lifesaver for your wrists during long shoots... safety first right? Just make sure you take the time to balance it perfectly before turning it on so you dont stress the motors. Tbh save the extra cash for a better lens or some filters. You dont always need the flashiest name brand to get the job done.
I use the Zhiyun Weebill S with my Canon EOS R50, and it works like a charm! The Weebill S is a bit more robust than some smaller gimbals, so it gives you room to grow if you add heavier lenses or accessories later. The R50 balances well on it, and I love the built-in follow focus and time-lapse features. It’s a bit pricier, but if you want something versatile, it’s worth the investment.
Great info, saved!
I use DJI RSC 2, works well and no problems.
