Just got my R5 Mark II but my old EF 24-70 is looking kinda soft on this sensor compared to my R6. Doing a big shoot in Seattle next month and need one zoom to rule them all... is the RF 28-70 f2 worth the insane weight or should I just go 24-70?

I'd go with the Canon RF 24-70mm f/2.8L IS USM. The Canon RF 28-70mm f/2L USM is amazing but very heavy, and having stabilization is better for a walking trip.

Spent a week shooting rainy Seattle with the Canon RF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM and honestly, I've never been more satisfied. That extra reach for street shots is just huge... plus I saved like $1,500. The R5II sensor is so clean that the f4 isnt a problem for low light anymore.

Like someone mentioned, weight is a serious concern. In my experience, heavy glass often causes micro-vibrations on high-res sensors... so looking at lighter stabilized zooms is basically a smarter technical alternative.
