What is the best gimbal for the Canon EOS 5D Mark IV? I'm looking for recommendations that offer good compatibility and camera control features. Any advice or experiences would be greatly appreciated!

Building on the earlier suggestion, I would suggest being really careful with the Mini models for this specific camera. The 5D IV is roughly 800g without a lens, and if youre throwing a heavy EF zoom on there, those smaller motors might struggle over time. Reliable stabilization needs some overhead so you dont fry the electronics during a long shoot.

  • Check the payload: You want at least 3kg for a DSLR setup to stay safe.
  • Balance: Make sure the lens doesnt hit the back motor when tilting up.
  • Second-hand deals: You can often find a used DJI RS 2 Gimbal Stabilizer or even the Zhiyun Crane 2S 3-Axis Handheld Gimbal for way less than a brand new RS 4. Tbh if you go too small, you might experience micro-jitters because the motors are working at 90 percent capacity constantly. Better to buy an older pro model than a brand new mini one if you want to save money and keep it reliable.

Get the DJI RS 4 Mini. It's lightweight and easy to use.

My old DJI RS 3 mini is still a good gimbal for EOS 5D Mark IV.
