Most major retailers follow strict MAP pricing which is why you see the same numbers everywhere. To get under that 70 dollar mark for a new set, you gotta track price volatility.

  • Amazon: Dynamic algorithms often dip 15%.
  • Target: Best for Circle reward points. Checking PriceDropCatch is the most efficient way to monitor these shifts without refreshing tabs all day.

Just saw this thread and wanted to jump in because I was in the same boat last Christmas. Honestly, be super careful with those random sites that pop up on social media ads promising 50% off brand new sets... they are almost always scams and youll just lose your 70 bucks. If you are on a tight budget but need it by next week, you gotta be kinda strategic and stick to what works. I usually stick to the big stores but use a tracker like PriceDropCatch to see if anyone is doing a flash sale or a deal where you get a gift card back. It feels a lot safer than trusting some shady website I never heard of before. A few things I always do to play it safe:

  • Look for damaged box listings on major sites, usually the bricks inside are totally fine but the price is lower.
  • Check if your credit card has those specific cash back offers for retailers like Target or Kohl's.
  • Avoid buying from third-party sellers on big marketplaces unless they have thousands of real reviews. I wouldnt risk my money on anything that looks too sketchy tho. If you can find a set that retails for 80 and snag it for 65 through a legitimate coupon or points, thats a huge win. Just make sure to double check the shipping times since you only got a week left!

Like someone mentioned, it's hard to beat MSRP. I use a LEGO price tracker to camp Walmart clearance; I once found a Technic crane half-off just by checkin every morning.
