I have been staring at my Walmart cart for like three hours now trying to figure out how to shave some money off the total. I live out in a pretty rural part of Ohio and honestly, Walmart is basically my only option unless I want to drive 45 minutes to the city, so I do all my grocery and household shopping online for pickup. The problem is that stupid promo code box at checkout. It feels like a taunt lol. I know there has to be a way to fill it but I can never find anything that actually works.
I did a little digging before posting here and tried a couple of those big coupon aggregator sites like RetailMeNot and even installed Honey for a second. Most of the codes I found were either totally expired or only meant for first-time orders. I have had my account since like 2018 so the welcome codes are definitely out for me. I also saw people talking about the Ibotta app but I am honestly so confused by it. Does it work for online orders or is it just for when you go into the store and scan a physical receipt? I dont want to buy a bunch of stuff and then find out the cashback doesnt apply to the website. It seems like a lot of work if it ends up failing.
Here is what I am looking for specifically:
It just feels like there is some secret society of people who always have a code and I am stuck paying full price every time. Are there specific newsletters or maybe certain days of the week when they drop new offers? I am just tired of clicking apply on twenty different codes only to get that red invalid text every single time. How are you guys actually finding legit savings for the online store?...
In my experience, I must politely disagree with the idea that these codes are even out there for regular shoppers. I have been facing this exact same issue for over a year and honestly it is so frustrating.
