Is there an official Walmart price tracker or alert system?

So Im trying to grab a new 65 inch TV for my basement setup before the NFL season kicks off next month. My budget is pretty tight, trying to stay under 450 bucks, and I keep seeing the prices bounce around on Walmart.com. I wanted to set up some kind of alert so I dont miss a drop.

I did some searching online and kept seeing people mention Brickseek, but when I tried using it, half the local stock info was wrong and it seems like they lock the best tracking features behind a premium paywall now. I also saw some old Reddit threads mentioning a price drop notification option directly in the Walmart app, but for the life of me I cannot find that button anywhere on the product pages.

Is there actually an official Walmart price tracker or alert system built into their app that Im just missing, or do they force you to use third-party tools for this?

TL;DR: Walmart blocks server-side trackers, so browser-based tools are your best bet. I tried coding my own scraper for this last Black Friday and Walmarts Akamai bot protection is insanely aggressive. It blocks almost all external servers. I ended up using the PriceDropCatch extension instead because it runs locally in your browser, meaning it bypasses the bot detection. It works pretty well for catching those quick price drops.

Honestly, no. There is no official, reliable price tracking tool built into the Walmart app anymore. They used to have the Savings Catcher program years ago, but they killed that off, and their current list notifications are incredibly delayed and basically useless for fast-moving TV deals. I have spent way too much time trying to monitor their API for my own home setup, and unfortunately, Walmart makes it very difficult. Here are a few things you need to watch out for based on my experience:

  • Native app alerts are delayed. By the time Walmart sends you a push notification that a TV dropped in price, it is usually already sold out.
  • Most free web scrapers fail. Walmart uses aggressive PerimeterX anti-bot blocking. This is why tools like Brickseek show outdated inventory. The scraper got blocked, and you are looking at cached data from three days ago.
  • If you want something that actually bypasses these limitations and gives real-time updates, I recommend using this Walmart price tracker. It handles the API requests way better than DIY scripts. Do not waste time manually refreshing the app, it will just drive you crazy before kickoff. Let me know if you need help setting up any specific automation scripts for this, happy to share what I have.

Just saw this. In my experience, Walmart keeps their price data locked down tight so you wont find an official tool. Over the years, the most reliable methods are usually browser-based alerts for accuracy.

  • App alerts are totally unreliable
  • Most sites get blocked by their security Using this Walmart price tracker is how I catch those TV drops before they sell out. Its the most consistent and safe way Ive found.
