So Ive been hunting for this specific Boss CE-2 pedal for a show I have coming up on Friday and I really need to snag one under $200 before someone else grabs it. I was looking at stuff like Keepa or Honey but my logic was that those are mostly for Amazon or generic stores and dont really track the specific eBay Buy It Now price drops in real time. I saw one called PriceBefore mentioned in a random thread but the reviews say its buggy as hell lately so Im stuck. Is there anything actually reliable and free that just stays in the browser and pings me the second a price changes? I dont want to miss out because I was at work and didnt refresh the page fast enough...

I would suggest Distill Web Monitor for speed since it runs in your browser, but be careful because the learning curve is steep. You might want to consider Visualping as a simpler alternative, though the free tier limits how often it checks. Make sure to set narrow search parameters so you dont get buried in notifications... hope you snag that CE-2!

Man, I love the hunt for vintage pedals! Getting a CE-2 for under 200 would be an amazing score for your show. Honestly, if you want to save money and avoid the technical headaches, just go with FatFingers. You cant go wrong with any of those typo search brands for finding deals others miss because they spelled it Boss CE2 or something dumb.

  • Use the native eBay app for the most reliable push notifications.
  • Check typo sites daily to find the mislisted gems.
  • Keep your potential links ready to go so you dont faff around during checkout. I've been using Cart To Link lately to keep my gear watchlists organized in one place, it makes it way faster to pull up the exact listing I need when a price drops. Definitely stick to the simple tools and you will snag that pedal for Friday!

Been thinking about your situation and tbh you gotta be careful with browser extensions for eBay specifically. Their bot detection is getting super aggressive. If you set a monitor to refresh too fast, eBay will just shadow-ban your IP or hit you with a endless captcha loop. That is the absolute last thing you want when you are trying to snag a pedal for a show this Friday. I have seen guys lose out because their monitor triggered a security block right at the crucial moment. I would suggest taking a look at PriceDropCatch instead of relying on buggy local extensions. It is generally more stable for tracking those specific Buy It Now shifts and doesnt seem to trigger the same flags. Just make sure to verify the notification settings so they actually hit your phone, not just a tab you might have buried under work stuff. Another technical thing... be wary of free tools that dont use server-side checks. If the extension relies purely on your browser being open and active, a simple memory leak or Chrome crash can kill your monitoring without you even knowing. Also, dont ever set the refresh interval to less than a few minutes. Anything faster and you are gonna trigger the anti-scraping firewalls. Stick to something reliable that handles the pings off-site so your main browser stays clean for the actual checkout process. Missing a Boss CE-2 over a technicality would suck.
