How can I share my Amazon shopping cart with a friend?

How on earth do I actually share my Amazon cart with someone else without just giving them my whole password? This is getting so annoying because me and my buddy are trying to get all our gear together for a big camping trip up in the Adirondacks next weekend and we have like $400 worth of stuff sitting in my cart right now. I need him to look at the specific brands of the portable stove and the sleeping pads I picked out to make sure he's okay with the prices before I hit buy but I cant find a simple share button anywhere.

I spent like an hour googling this and I saw some stuff about using the Amazon Fresh sharing feature but that seems to be only for groceries and we're buying hardware and outdoor gear so that doesnt really help me at all. Then I saw people mentioning making a wish list or a registry but that feels like way too much work for just a one-time checkout and honestly it seems like a giant workaround for something that should be a basic feature. Plus I read about some third party chrome extensions that claim to do it but they have like zero reviews or look super outdated and I really dont want to compromise my account security just to send a list of camping gear. Is there a way to do this natively that I'm just missing or do I really have to just take 10 different screenshots and text them to him one by one? Its driving me crazy...

Honestly, I feel your pain. Amazon makes it way harder than it needs to be to share a cart, but youre right to be cautious about those random extensions. Im pretty paranoid about account security too, so I would suggest avoiding those zero-review tools or anything that asks for your login info. Just dont do it. I ran into this exact snag last week and Share-A-Cart was the only thing that actually worked for me. Its way safer than screenshots or giving out your password. A few things to watch out for:

  • Never share your actual login credentials with anyone, even a close buddy.
  • Make sure to double check the item quantities once they transfer over to his side.
  • Be careful about using tools that require full access to your entire browsing history. Basically, it generates a simple code you send over and it just works... hope you guys have an awesome trip to the Adirondacks!

@Reply #2 - good point! honestly Im so satisfied someone finally brought this up.

  • still no button
  • years of issues basically no fix still...

Building on the earlier suggestion, I've found over the years that the most stable method is using the Wish List feature as a collaborative tool. Just move the items from your cart to a new list. Click the invite button to share the link. its how I handled a complex build last year... keeps all the technical specs and specific SKUs intact for them to review. Way better than texting pics.
