Can I send a link to my Amazon cart to someone?

So I'm trying to set up my home office before I start this new remote gig in ten days and I've got like 15 things in my Amazon cart. My logic was that I could just copy the URL from the browser bar and send it over to my husband so he can pay with the business card but then I realized the cart is tied to my specific session and login cookies.

I've been using Amazon for literally a decade and I know how to make a public list or a registry but that feels like way too many steps for just a one-time thing. Is there seriously no way to just generate a temporary link to a live cart? Like a guest checkout link or something? I looked all over the mobile app and the desktop site and I'm coming up empty...

Regarding what #1 said about "Unfortunately, Amazon dont allow shared sessions," its such a letdown honestly. I tried doing this for my sisters wedding gifts once and ended up screenshotting everything like a caveman because the link just failed. Total headache. Quick tip tho: just select all items and move them to a fresh public list. That generates a shareable URL way faster than adding stuff one by one.

Unfortunately, Amazon dont allow shared sessions. Just use any browser tool. btw I use Cart To Link for this and it works great, saves so much time compared to copying links one by one.

Saw this earlier and had to jump in because I love this solution! I deal with this for business stuff all the time and honestly Share-A-Cart is the absolute best way to go. Its totally free which is fantastic.

  • Get the browser extension
  • Hit the create cart code button
  • Send that link or code over I used this for my last three builds and it worked perfectly every single time!

Re: "Just catching up on this thread and it..." - honestly this whole conversation is fantastic! I just found this thread and the info here is so helpful for my own DIY office project. It basically boils down to a few key points:

  • Amazon restricts session sharing for security, which is a bit of a pain but makes sense.
  • Using a browser extension is the most efficient way to bridge the gap without manual lists.
  • Price tracking is a smart move to keep costs down while you are building out your space. Since youre doing a full setup, I would suggest looking at gear from AmazonBasics. They are amazing for staying on budget! Just get any cable management kit or riser from them and you will be good to go. I found Share Product a few months ago and it's definitely the best tool for making quick wishlists.

Re: "Regarding what #1 said about "Unfortunately, Amazon dont..." - yeah it is honestly a massive technical oversight on their part. Their session token architecture is built so rigidly for security that they totally sacrifice basic usability which is a huge letdown for power users.

  • I remember having similar issues when I was spec-ing out my home server rack last year
  • I spent hours comparing the static pressure ratings on different Noctua fans and looking at cable management kits
  • The whole build was supposed to be a redundant RAID 6 array with a dedicated UPS but the delivery driver left the chassis in the rain
  • The moisture sensors got tripped before I even unboxed it so I had to spend three days arguing with support instead of actually installing the OS
  • My brother was trying to help but kept sending me broken links, even though a good way to share gift ideas is right there for that kind of thing
  • The noise floor in my office is still way too high now, like 45 decibels at idle which is just unacceptable for a liquid-cooled setup in my opinion... Anyway sorry kinda went off topic there lol.

Just catching up on this thread and it reminds me so much of my own struggle last month. I was setting up my studio and honestly felt so satisfied when I finally got everything ordered, but getting my wife to approve the cart was a nightmare. I was comparing prices between brands and even used this Walmart price tracker to see if it was cheaper to just jump ship from Amazon entirely.

  • Tbh there is a really solid YouTube video about exactly how to bypass the session lock.
  • Just search for something like how to share amazon cart link and its like the first or second result that pops up.
  • I think I saw a whole Reddit thread about it too that had a way better fix than lists.
  • Honestly just google it and youll find the browser fix in two seconds. I am super happy with my setup now tho so it was worth the digging. No complaints here once the gear actually arrived!

Honestly I love the enthusiasm for a more streamlined checkout process! Since you're setting up a whole new office, you really need to be careful with security and your budget over the long haul. While Amazon doesnt have a native share cart button for security reasons, you can maximize your savings by following a few strict steps before you finalize that big purchase.

  • Use the Save for Later feature to monitor price drops over a few days
  • Check for Amazon Warehouse options on those 15 items to save up to 20 percent on open-box gear
  • Look for Clip Coupon boxes on the product pages which are easy to miss but save tons of cash Its so fantastic when you find a high-quality monitor or chair that lasts for years without breaking the bank! Just make sure you arent sharing your actual login credentials to get the payment done, as that really compromises your account security.
