im so hyped for our Joshua Tree trip next weekend but honestly so annoyed right now. spent hours picking out $450 in gear and there is literally no way to just send the whole cart to my buddy so he can check it before i pay... how do i actually share the cart link?

Joshua Tree is gonna be sick, man, but yeah, Amazon is weirdly stubborn about this. Basically, they dont have a direct share button because your cart is tied to a specific session ID and browser cookies for security reasons. If they just gave you a link, it might leak your private account data or session tokens, so they keep it locked down to your local browser storage. It is super annoying when you got a huge gear haul like that and just want a second pair of eyes on the specs. I would suggest making a specific Wish List or an Idea List instead of trying to hack the cart. Move everything to a new list, set it to public or shared, and send that link. It is the only official way. Be careful tho if you think about using those browser extensions that claim to share carts. Most of them are fine, but they usually scrape your page data to work. I am always a bit cautious about giving a third-party tool access to my shopping habits and potential metadata, even if it seems convenient for a one-time trip. If you really want to keep it in the cart, ngl, just take some screenshots or use a tool like Share-A-Cart which is what most people end up doing. Just make sure to check the permissions first because data privacy is kind of a mess with these things. Definitely dont try sharing your login info just to show him the items... that is a massive security risk and Amazon will probably flag your account for suspicious activity anyway if he logs in from a different IP. Better safe than locked out right before the trip.
