okay so I am totally new to this and probably sounds super silly but I am planning this huge surprise birthday bash for my bestie Sarah and she is turning 21 so it has to be perfect!! I have been scouring Amazon all night looking for the cutest rose gold decorations and those cool LED lights and I found everything I need but I am over my $200 budget by like fifty bucks so I really need my other roommate to look at what I found and tell me what we can cut out or if she can chip in for the extra stuff. The party is in NYC in like exactly 14 days so I am kind of in a rush to get this ordered like today or tomorrow so the shipping gets here in time.

The thing is I have everything sitting in my cart right now and I am so confused on how to actually show her what is in there?? I tried copying the link at the top of the page when I am looking at my cart but I am terrified that if I send that link to her she is gonna be able to see my private stuff like my home address or my credit card info that is saved on my account or something. I really dont want her to have access to my whole Amazon account obviously but I just want her to see the list of items I picked out so we can decide together. Is there like a special button for this? I looked all over the screen and I cant find a Share My Cart button anywhere and I am starting to get a little frustrated but mostly just excited to get this stuff ordered lol.

Sorry if this is such a basic thing everyone knows but I honestly have no idea where to start or if its even possible to just send a link to a cart. Do I have to make a separate list or something? I saw something about wish lists but I dont know if that is the same thing as a shopping cart. If anyone can explain it to me like I am five years old that would be amazing because I am literally so lost right now. I just want to send the link and let her see the stuff but I am scared about my data... help??

Unfortunately, you cant share a direct cart link because its tied to your private session ID. I have had issues with this before and its not as efficient as I would like. You really need to use a Wish List for security.

  • Click Add to List on those rose gold decorations
  • Open your Lists menu
  • Hit Invite to share the link This keeps your data private while letting her see the items.

In my experience, sharing the URL fails because your cart is tied to session cookies. Use a browser extension instead. I use Share-A-Cart to send carts to my boss, its super simple.
