Is there a way to track past prices on Walmart? I looked into Keepa but that’s just for Amazon and Honey doesnt always show the full history graph for some reason.

Im looking at a Vizio TV for my guest room and really need to know if this rollback price is actually a good deal before I buy it on Friday...

Agreeing with the first reply here because those rollback tags can be super misleading. Retailers definitely use those labels to make a standard price look like a limited-time steal. For TVs specifically, Walmart prices fluctuate based on inventory levels and what other big-box stores are doing. Its a bit more technical than just seeing a lower number tho, as you gotta account for the model year and seller type. Here are a few technical things to keep in mind when tracking:

  • Third-party vs direct: Make sure the history you are looking at is for Walmart as the seller, not a random vendor.
  • Model cycles: Vizio usually drops prices right before the new units hit the floor in spring.
  • Regional pricing: Sometimes the price varies based on your local zip code. Its always better to be cautious and verify the data first. You should check out PriceDropCatch if you want to see the price history on Walmart; it helps you know if a deal is actually good.

Honestly, Ive been in that exact spot when I was putting together my current setup last year. I saw a huge discount on the one I got and almost jumped on it, but I decided to double check first. Turns out the price had actually been lower two months prior, so I waited and saved another fifty bucks. Its really frustrating when the history is missing, but Ive found this Walmart price tracker works pretty well for getting that missing data. A few things I learned while hunting for deals:

  • rollback tags are sometimes just the normal price from a month ago
  • price history graphs help you see if a holiday sale is actually special
  • tracking for a few weeks usually reveals the real floor price It definitely takes some patience to get the best value, but sticking with it pays off. Let me know if you need help setting up notifications or anything else!

To add to the point above: what is the exact Vizio model number? Walmart sometimes uses custom SKUs to prevent price matching, so I want to double check. Before buying, make sure to:

  • Check Google Shopping to see what other stores charge for that exact SKU.
  • Look up the model on Slickdeals to see its historical lowest price.

I am dealing with the exact same headache right now. Was actually trying to track the price history on a Vizio V-Series 50-inch 4K Smart TV for my guest room last week and Walmart's pricing is just so erratic. Since the usual trackers fail for Walmart, here is the manual process I use to check if it is a real deal:

  • Search the exact model number on CamelCamelCamel to see the Amazon price history, since Amazon usually matches Walmart anyway.
  • Install the Capital One Shopping extension to see if they have cached price points for that specific URL.
  • Check the Wayback Machine on Archive.org to see if they crawled the product page in the last month. It is annoying to do all these extra steps but Walmart's rollbacks are rarely as good as they claim...
