How can I actually squeeze every bit of value out of this Sephora VIB sale because I feel like I'm missing something lately? I’ve been a Rouge member for probably four or five years now so I know the basic 20 percent off deal by heart, but I’ve noticed they are getting way more strict with what brands are included and how you can combine things.
I'm planning a massive restock because my shelf is basically empty and I have a $600 budget set aside for next week. I'm looking to grab some pricey stuff like the Dyson Airwrap for my cousin's wedding gift and then my usual Tatcha and Hourglass stuff for myself. Does anyone know if using Rakuten or Honey actually works during the sale? Last time I tried, the cash back never showed up and I think it might be because the VIB code overrides other tracking links. Also, are there any specific credit cards or even those Klarna promos that give extra back?
I’m in Chicago and the sales tax is basically ten percent so if I don't find a way to stack some extra savings I'm basically just paying retail plus a tiny discount. Does the - buy a discounted gift card - trick still work or does Sephora flag those accounts now? Just trying to be smart about it...
@Reply #1 - good point! Honestly I stopped trying the gift card thing years ago after a friend got her account locked. Not worth the stress! Always stack the sale with the Sephora credit card for that extra 4% back, it really adds up on big hauls. Last year I snagged my Dyson and the points were amazing!!
Just catching up on this but I would suggest being careful with the gift card trick. I tried that once and Sephora flagged my account because the metadata didnt match. Rakuten tracking fails about 40 percent of the time with VIB codes, especially on big items like the Dyson Airwrap. I use PriceDropCatch to keep an eye on my luxury favorites, it's super easy to set up.
