Does Sephora send alerts when wishlist items go on sale?

Ive been stacking up my Sephora wishlist for like three months now because my birthday is coming up in July and honestly my cart is getting way too expensive. Im looking at like $400 worth of stuff mostly Tatcha and some Kerastase hair products and I really need to cut that down or wait for a sale. I tried googling if Sephora actually pings you when stuff on your list drops in price and its super confusing. One person on a thread from 2022 said they got an app notification for a price drop but then someone else said they only send those generic marketing emails for the big VIB sales or those random 20% off whole store events.

I have the app installed and notifications are turned on but I havent seen anything yet even though I know a couple of those holiday sets I had saved went on clearance last week. Do I need to check a specific box in my settings? Or is it just a myth that they track your specific wishlist items for price drops? I really dont want to have to check the app every single morning like a crazy person just to see if the Dewy Skin Cream is five bucks cheaper today... has anyone actually gotten a specific alert for a wishlist item recently or am I just wasting my time waiting for a notification that isnt coming?

I am honestly pretty satisfied with how I track my stuff now. Missing those Tatcha deals used to worry me since they are so pricey, but I found a way that works well without being too techy. Mostly I rely on this price tracker to keep an eye on things like the Dewy Skin Cream. It is super reliable and I have no complaints about it so far... it basically does the heavy lifting for me. Just make sure you check your Sephora app settings to see if push notifications are actually on for sales. Sometimes updates reset them. Having a backup like that tracker is much safer just in case the app glitches. Definitely makes the whole process less stressful for me.

Like someone mentioned, those app alerts are the official way to track things, but unfortunately, they have been quite disappointing for me lately. I have had issues with the system missing specific clearance markdowns on my list.

  • Sephora App: Native and easy to use but notification timing is very inconsistent.
  • PriceDropCatch extension: Much more reliable for actual price monitoring than the internal wishlist. Its honestly not as good as expected for a major retailer.

Ive been very satisfied with the app notifications. They work well and consistently ping me regarding Tatcha and Kerastase price drops, so I never have to manually check my wishlist for discounts.
