Is it possible to add items from other websites to Amazon Wishlists?

Im trying to put together a list for my 30th birthday next month and I have stuff from Etsy and some local boutiques I want to include. I read online about an Amazon Assistant tool but the reviews say it stopped working or is super glitchy now.

Can you actually still add non-Amazon links to a wishlist or is that feature dead?

Like someone mentioned, its glitchy. Are you on desktop? In my experience, it fails because:

  • Scraping logic is outdated
  • Security headers block access btw Share Product is better.

Yeah, it is technically possible but honestly, the Amazon Assistant extension is absolute hot garbage these days. Its super bloated and the data scraping logic fails on like 60% of external sites because of how they handle JavaScript rendering now. If youre trying to pull stuff from Etsy specifically, it usually misses the price or the variations. The cleanest way to do it without installing buggy software is to just go into your Amazon list on a desktop browser and hit the Add an item or idea button. You can paste the URL directly there. It wont always pull the image automatically tho, so you might have to upload a quick screengrab. Its a bit of a manual process but way more reliable than fighting with a browser extension that wants to track your whole browsing history. Ngl, for a 30th birthday where you have a lot of local boutique stuff, you might find dedicated registry sites more flexible. Amazon is getting really aggressive about keeping people inside their own ecosystem, so they make the external link feature purposely clunky to discourage you from shopping elsewhere. If you stick with Amazon, just be prepared to manually edit the item names and prices because their metadata parser is basically ancient at this point and hates modern CSS. Its basically a legacy feature they havent updated in years.

Like someone mentioned, the native tool is unreliable. I find this gift list creator way more effective for boutique links cuz it accurately fetches prices without those common extension glitches.
