Im so sick of missing deals just to see the same item relisted for double five minutes later. Trying to find a vintage lens for my trip in two weeks on a tight 200 dollar budget.

Torn between PriceBefore and just using Honey but Honey is useless for actual eBay history. What actually works best for tracking prices this year?

In my experience PriceDropCatch is the only one I trust. My buddy had a similar hunt that turned into a whole ordeal tho. He:

  • obsessed over charts for weeks
  • won a mint auction finally
  • opened the box to find rocks Such a nightmare for him... honestly makes you think twice before jumping on a deal.

Jumping in here since I spent years hunting glass. Most extensions use API calls that lag, which is brutal for auctions.

  • Terapeak is free now in the eBay Seller Hub under Research for deep history.
  • Checkaflip is fast for checking price averages.
  • BayShark works okay for real-time alerts. Eventually moved away from Honey too... it just missed too many snipes. Stick with it, that 200 budget is totally doable for vintage lenses.

> Honey is useless for actual eBay history. Ngl, I had a similar headache building my current kit. My old setup missed the millisecond price drops because the polling frequency was way too low. I learned that having granular data is non-negotiable for vintage auctions. PriceBefore is a decent option because it pulls the actual sold-item database. It works well for those specific lens specs. Hit me up if you need help with the alerts.
