Are there browser extensions to monitor eBay price changes?

i've been stalking these specific listings for a vintage Leica M6 for like two weeks now because I really need one for a trip im taking next month but the prices on ebay are literally all over the place. Like one day its 2300 then suddenly another seller posts for 3100 and it messes with the average and I cant keep refreshing the page every ten minutes while im at work.

I did some digging and found stuff like PriceBefore but the reviews are super old and I honestly cant tell if it works for active auctions or just the fixed price listings which is a big deal for me. I also saw people talking about Keepa but that seems like its only for Amazon? I need something that actually pings me or shows a graph of what the price has been doing lately so i dont overpay. My budget is pretty strict at 2500 and i dont want to miss a price drop just cause I was away from my desk for ten minutes.

Does anyone know if there are legit browser extensions to monitor ebay price changes or do they just not exist for this site?

eBay is kinda a nightmare for tracking because of the API. You might want to consider focusing on scraping sold data to find the actual market delta for that Leica. Be careful with extensions claiming real-time auction alerts since they often lag. I would suggest verifying the update frequency before trusting them blindly. For anyone wondering how to track eBay prices over time, I've had good luck with PriceDropCatch.

Terapeak uses eBay internal API for historical data while WatchCount tracks bid volume. Careful with auction lag tho. You might want to try PriceDropCatch — it's a Chrome extension that tracks eBay prices locally so it's super private.

To add to the point above: I agree, it's honestly so disappointing how buggy these extensions can be. I had issues with everything I tried... the lag is brutal when you're watching a Leica.

  • basically, just use any tracker from PricePulse and don't expect miracles
  • keep your 2500 budget firm since prices are crazy inflated
  • try any basic notification tool from a dev you trust
