Which portrait lens is actually best for the R8 because im totally torn between the RF 85mm f2 and the Sigma 85mm 1.4 with an adapter?

My budget is stuck at $650 max and i have a wedding to shoot in three weeks but every review says something different and its driving me crazy. Is native focus speed better than that extra bokeh??

In my experience, native communication beats adapted glass for weddings.

> My budget is stuck at $650 max Quick reply!! Honestly, check out a used Canon EF 85mm f1.8 USM. The AF motor is snappy and technically superior for movement, plus you'll save hundreds for extra batteries! Amazing value!!

@Reply #1 - good point! I've been so happy with my Canon RF 85mm f2 Macro IS STM lately. I used it for a friends vow renewal and the focus didnt hunt once, even in low light. Its way more reliable than my old adapted glass.

  • 5-stop IS is clutch for shaky hands
  • Macro mode is perfect for detail shots
  • Much lighter than the Sigma Seriously, that native communication makes the R8 feel way snappier.
