im honestly so over the tiny screen on my R3 i keep missing focus on track days because the glare is just impossible out here in the Arizona sun and the flip out screen is just way too small for my aging eyes. i tried using this cheap generic monitor i got on sale but it keeps flickering and the colors are just gross compared to what the camera is actually recording. i have a big shoot in two weeks and i need something that actually works.

  • under 750 bucks
  • high brightness for outdoor use
  • solid connection that wont drop signal
  • not too bulky since the R3 is already heavy

what are you guys using that doesnt drive you crazy? i just need something reliable...

Budget screens are honestly a letdown. After having issues with flicker I finally got the Portkeys LH5P II 5.5-inch 2200nit Monitor. Its bright enough, but build quality feels cheap unfortunately.

Just saw this! You really gotta stop wasting cash on those cheap generic monitors, they always fail eventually. I am totally obsessed with the Atomos Shinobi 5-inch 1000nit HDMI Monitor for my R3 because it is so reliable!
