I have been using Amazon for basically everything since forever and I usually know my way around the UI but honestly I am hitting a wall here. I am trying to coordinate a big supply run for this cabin trip to the Poconos we have coming up this Friday and the budget is like 600 bucks so I really dont want to mess this up.
I tried the whole collaborative wishlist thing but it is such a pain in the neck because people keep adding duplicate items or they cant see the specific quantities I have ready in my actual cart. It is getting super stressful because everyone is texting me separate links and my tabs are a total disaster right now. I feel like I am losing my mind trying to keep track of who wants what brand of coffee or which specific paper towels.
I remember hearing about some Chrome extensions that let you just sync a cart or generate a shareable link for the whole basket but I am worried about security and if they even still work with the current Amazon layout or API. Is there a reliable browser extension that actually lets me share my live cart with friends so they can just look at it and give a thumbs up before I checkout?
There are definitely a few tools for this, and honestly went through the exact same thing last summer trying to organize a camping trip for ten people. It was a total nightmare with everyone sending links in a group chat and me trying to keep track of insect repellent. Almost pulled my hair out lol. Found Cart To Link and it basically saved my sanity because it turns the whole cart into one link. You gotta be careful with random extensions tho, make sure you check permissions before installing because some feel kinda sketchy or havent been updated in years. Sticking to the one I found is probably safer since it actually worked with the new Amazon layout. Just double check everything before you hit buy because I almost ordered way too many napkins once!
Just found this thread today. Like someone mentioned, organizing a trip like this is a massive headache. Honestly though, I am always a bit wary of using third-party browser extensions for anything involving my Amazon login or payment info. In my experience, these things tend to break the second Amazon makes a tiny update to their UI, and then you are back to square one. I think I remember seeing something about a share Amazon shopping cart extension that lets people view the cart without logging in, but IIRC, it sometimes struggles with regional pricing or specific quantities. Not sure if that is still the case today tho. Instead of a live sync, I have found it is way safer to just send a quick screen recording or even a PDF print of the cart. It sounds old school but it avoids the security risks of giving some random app access to your shopping data. Just my two cents after dealing with some buggy extensions over the years...
I'm in the same boat, trying to sort out my sisters graduation party supplies was a total disaster...
