Honestly those 50 buck tripods are a recipe for disaster in Iceland. The wind there is absolutely no joke... like it literally blows doors off cars sometimes. If you put an expensive R5 on a flimsy stand, it will definitely tip over and that is the last thing you want on a dream trip. Since youre on a budget but need something sturdy, i would suggest looking at carbon fiber because its lighter for carry-on but absorbs vibrations way better than cheap aluminum. I have used a few brands that wont break the bank but still feel professional. Here are a couple you might want to consider:

• Ulanzi Zero Y Lightweight Travel Tripod Carbon Fiber is basically a cheaper alternative to the high-end stuff. It folds down really thin which is perfect for carry-ons.
• Sirui AM-255 Carbon Fiber Tripod with B-00K Ball Head is a beast for the price. Sirui makes really solid legs that dont feel like toys.
• Benro MeFoto RoadTrip Pro Carbon Fiber Travel Tripod is great because it is versatile and very compact for travel. Make sure to check the load capacity before you buy. The R5 with a lens can get heavy fast. One tip is to always hang your backpack from the center hook to keep it stable when the wind picks up... just be careful not to overload it. Youre gonna have a blast in Iceland tho, that camera is amazing.
