Best travel tripods for lightweight Canon RF mirrorless camera setups?

Hey everyone! I'm planning a hiking trip to the Dolomites next month and need to find a solid travel tripod. I recently switched to a Canon R8 with the RF 24-105mm f/4L lens, so my setup is pretty light, but my old aluminum Manfrotto is way too bulky for long treks.

I am specifically looking for something that:

  • Weighs under 3 lbs
  • Fits easily inside a standard carry-on bag
  • Stays stable for 2-3 second long exposures

I've been looking at the Peak Design Carbon Fiber model, but the price is a bit steep. Are there any other lightweight options that work well with the smaller RF bodies? What are you guys using for your mirrorless travel setups?

The Sirui AM-225 Carbon Fiber Tripod with B-00K Ball Head is solid. At 2.1 lbs with a 13.2 lb capacity, it offers great torsional stability for long exposures on the R8.

I always prioritize stability because I dont want my R8 tipping over. The Peak Design Travel Tripod Carbon Fiber is incredibly compact but can feel a bit wobbly. I personally recommend the Leofoto LS-224C Carbon Fiber Tripod. It lacks a center column which makes it much more rigid for those long exposures. Another solid, safer bet is the Sirui T-025SK Carbon Fiber Tripod which is budget-friendly but very sturdy for its size.
