Omg you are going to LOVE Japan for photography!! The R50 is such a cool little beast but yeah that battery life is kinda tragic lol. I went through the same panic when I switched. For charging on the go, you definitely need a Power Delivery (PD) bank or it wont even charge while you are out exploring.

  • Grab the Anker 737 Power Bank 24000mAh 140W because it has enough juice to recharge the camera like five times and it is super fast.
  • Always carry a spare Canon LP-E17 Battery Pack in your pocket just in case you are mid-sunset at a temple.
  • For the bag, I swear by the Bellroy Venture Sling 6L. It looks like a normal crossbody bag and fits the R50 perfectly with a small lens. No one on the Tokyo metro will even know you are carrying gear! Seriously have the best time ever!!

Im super satisfied with my budget setup. The Baseus 65W 20000mAh Power Bank handles the 65W specs perfectly for way less cash.
