Maybe in the second half of 2025.

Regarding what #2 said about "August to September 2025."

  • I actually think we might be looking at early 2026 if they decide to prioritize the higher-end APS-C refreshes first. I remember waiting months for the original R50 to launch while using an old DSLR and it felt like forever. If youre looking to save cash, waiting for a rumored model isnt always the best move anyway.
  • Canon EOS R50 with RF-S 18-45mm Lens: Super compact for travel. The 4K 30p is crisp because it is oversampled, but I really missed having a second control dial when I was shooting in manual mode.
  • Canon EOS R10 Body: This is the better technical choice imo. You get a faster mechanical shutter and better heat management for long video clips.
  • Sony ZV-E10 II: The lens ecosystem is way better for wide-angle vlogging, but the menus are still a bit clunky compared to Canon. Unless the R50 V brings something massive like uncropped 4K 60p, grabbing a current model on sale is probably the smarter play. I found that spending the extra money on better glass made a way bigger diff than waiting for a new body with minor spec bumps.
