so i just got this canon rebel t7 and my hand feels way too big for it plus the battery dies so fast. im supposed to take photos for my sisters baby shower this saturday and i have no idea what im doing.

my logic was if i get a battery grip itll make the camera bigger to hold and last longer but i dont know which ones fit the t7 since i heard some dont work? also i need a flash because the indoor photos look super dark and i only have about 140 dollars total for both things. sorry if this is a dumb question i just really dont want to mess this up for her...

The T7 is a solid starter kit but yeah, it is tiny! To fix the size and battery life, you really have two main options for grips. First, there is the Neewer Vertical Battery Grip for Canon EOS Rebel T7 which is what I used for a long time. It holds two batteries and comes with the necessary cable to make the shutter button work. Comparing that to the Vivitar Battery Grip for Canon Rebel T7, the Neewer is way better because the plastic texture actually matches the camera body perfectly! The Vivitar feels a bit cheap and slippery in my experience, which is the last thing you want at a busy event. Honestly, having that extra weight makes the camera feel so much more professional and stable. Regarding the flash, you can definitely stay under budget! The Godox TT600 Universal Flash Speedlite is my top pick. It is incredibly powerful and the recycling time is fast, so you wont miss any cute baby shower moments. Another solid choice is the Yongnuo YN560-IV Speedlite Flash. While the Yongnuo is a classic, I find the Godox menu system much more intuitive when you are in a rush. If you go with the Neewer grip and the Godox flash, you are looking at spending maybe 90 to 100 bucks total, which is well under your limit! Just remember to bounce the flash off the ceiling so the photos dont look harsh. It makes a massive difference, love it every time I use that setup!
