What are the most effective keywords or tricks to find misspelled eBay listings for a bargain? I'm trying to source some vintage Nikon lenses for a trip to Utah next month on a $400 budget and everyone says typos are the way to go. I've looked at tools like FatFingered but they feel kind of outdated and keep showing me random stuff I don't need. I heard some people use specific search strings with asterisks or just manual typos like 'Nikor' instead of 'Nikkor' but is there a more systematic way to do this without wasting hours? I'm just curious if there is a secret list of common typos for camera gear specifically...

manually searching for Nikkon or Nikcor yields the best results. Ive tried many tools, and over the years, these specific strings have always worked. Let me know if you need more!

Searching typos is getting harder since eBay fixes everything now. To bypass that, use quotation marks like 'Nikor' to force the exact spelling. It is a decent option but can be hit or miss.

  • Try 'Nikon 50m' or 'Nikon lense'
  • Use the PriceDropCatch extension to get alerts when prices hit your budget
  • Search 'vintage glass' Just be careful, sometimes typos come from sellers who dont know how to pack gear safely.

I spent way too long trying that last year and it was just frustrating... eBay keeps fixing my spelling automatically now. I finally just started looking at any manual gear from Nikon since you really cant go wrong with their older stuff. Ngl PriceDropCatch has been way better for finding rare collectibles.
