Does anyone know how to actually share a live Amazon cart with another person without just sending a million screenshots? I am so pumped because my buddy and I are finally starting our custom MAME arcade cabinet build this weekend here in Dayton and I have got like 22 different items in my cart ready to go but I really need him to double check the specs before I drop the cash.
Ive been using Amazon for literally over a decade and usually I just make a public list or something but for some reason half the specific electronic components and the specific joysticks I found arent showing the right bulk pricing when I move them to a list vs keeping them in the cart. It is so weird. I tried looking for a share button or some kind of collaborative cart feature in the account settings but I cant find anything besides the Manage Your Household stuff which seems way too permanent for just one project checkout.
Our budget is strictly $450 for the internals and I dont want to mess up the SKUs by sending him a dozen links or a messy spreadsheet. Is there like a hidden URL or a browser extension that handles this? I remember seeing something about a cart sharing plugin once but I dont know if those are still safe or even work with the current UI updates. How do you guys handle group buys like this? Maybe there is a way to generate a temporary link or something...
Like someone mentioned, screen sharing is an option, but its inefficient for 22 items. TL;DR: use Share-A-Cart to maintain your $450 budget and verify specific arcade SKUs.
To add to the point above: make sure to consider the security risks of third-party plugins. I once tried a cart-sharing tool for a hardware build and it requested way too much access to my browser data. I ended up just doing this:
> Is there like a hidden URL or a browser extension that handles this? honestly man, amazon doesnt have a native feature for this which is super annoying for group projects like arcade builds. in my experience trying to mess with household settings for a one-off buy is a total nightmare. over the years ive tried a few workarounds but the only thing that actually works is an extension called Share-A-Cart. basically it lets you generate a short code that your buddy can plug in to recreate the whole cart on his end instantly. im usually pretty cautious with third-party plugins because of security risks but this one has been solid for me for years without any weird stuff happening. just make sure he uses the exact code you send. its way better than screenshots since it keeps the specific SKUs and quantities intact. should save you a lot of headache trying to stay under that $450 budget. arcade builds get pricey fast tho... ngl.
